Volunteers are essential for a safe and successful race. More than 1,500 volunteers are needed for the Brooklyn Half.
Race-day volunteers, including medical volunteers (Saturday, May 17), and Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance volunteers (Wednesday, May 14; Thursday, May 15; and Friday, May 16) will be entitled to a guaranteed entry to the 2015 Brooklyn Half. The entry will be non-complimentary, non-transferable, and non-deferable, and the entry fee will be non-refundable.
2014 Brooklyn Half runners who sign up to volunteer at baggage check or at the start corrals on race morning will also be entitled to a guaranteed entry to the 2015 Brooklyn Half as well as a +1 volunteer credit and a race credit for participating in the event. The entry invitation for next year's race will be sent to each volunteer in 2015 at the email address in their My NYRR profile. It will be the responsibility of the volunteer to activate the invitation and register for the 2015 Brooklyn Half before the deadline communicated in the email.
Please Note: Runners who sign up to be a start corral marshal may be assigned to volunteer in a different corral than their original assignment. If that is the case, runners must start the race in the new corral.
Already signed up to volunteer? You don't need to do anything else, except claim your digital badge for bragging rights.
All race-day volunteer jobs fulfill the +1 element of guaranteed-entry eligibility for the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon. Every race-day volunteer will receive a T-shirt.
*The deadline to apply for these jobs is April 15. We will select applicants who have previously volunteered with NYRR since April 2013.
