This race has now sold out.
The Brooklyn Half is NYRR’s marquee race in Brooklyn—the borough with attitude. The Half has been running since ’81, and it's a race like no other.
To kick off race weekend, we'll welcome you to the Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance, with heaps of Brooklyn flavor. The Half itself will have the biggest field ever, a wicked-fast lead pack, and a fast, fun course with a big Brooklyn payoff—the homestretch is a dash along the world-famous Coney Island boardwalk.
For the latest in great running shoes and gear, check out New Balance.
Stay tuned for more information on this year’s coverage of the 2014 Brooklyn Half in On the Run, NYRR's running lifestyle show!
The Brooklyn Half is a part of NYRR's Five-Borough Series: Run New York. Five Boroughs. One City.
Get special deals and discounts, along the course and off, in neighborhoods all over Brooklyn! Refuel at restaurants and bars, shop for gear, check out entertainment options, and more. You’ll be helping to support participating businesses throughout the Borough of Kings. Runners can show their race numbers and friends and family can show a Run the City pass.
Please note that NYRR members who run four of the following six events in 2014 (Fred Lebow Manhattan Half, NYC Half, Brooklyn Half, Queens (distance TBD), Bronx (distance TBD), and the Staten Island Half) and have an active membership by year-end 2014 will be eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2015 NYC Half.
You’ll start the race near the Brooklyn Museum, and then run the first couple miles past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and loop around Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza before entering Prospect Park. After a loop around Prospect Park, you’ll exit out the south-west corner onto Ocean Parkway and cruise south for a 5 mile stretch towards the beach before finishing in Brooklyn’s world famous Coney Island.
Please note that the course is subject to change.
Your race-weekend experience will start at the Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance at a location to be determined in Brooklyn. You’ll pick up your race materials, including your bib (which includes your timing tag), and the official bag that you can use to check your race-day clothing. You'll receive an email confirmation from us on or after May 8 that you'll need to print and bring to the Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance, along with a photo ID. That confirmation will include your bib number, which will help our staff direct you to get your race materials. Whether you pick up for yourself or as a proxy for someone else (see below), you'll need that race confirmation.
Get your amazing New Balance technical shirt in that area as well, and then explore everything that Brooklyn has to offer! Check out the food, groove to live music, and hang out with friends.
Pre-Party dates will be published once they are confirmed.
Bib pickup will be in Brooklyn. Please note there will be no race-day pickup.
NYRR is not responsible for lost or missing packets, and once registration materials (bib, bag, and shirt) have been picked up, NYRR assumes no responsibility for the items and will not be able to replace lost, missing, or damaged items.
There will be proxy pickup for the 2014 Brooklyn Half. Details will be published when they become available.
Age-group awards will be available after the race. Awards not collected on site will be available at NYRR.
All finishers will receive a medal.
