The last event of the school year, the 2013 Young Runners Championship, was much more than a great end to the season. The meet personified the hard work, resilience, and—most importantly—the fun that go into running with Young Runners.
Victor’s mother doesn’t mind when he wakes her up at 4:30 a.m. to go to NYRR races. She knows it’s good for him and he loves to run. At age 9, Victor is worldly, bright, and confident.
Cory McFarlane, 17, has only been running for four months, but he's already showing tremendous promise. He won the Young Runners Championship 5K in 19:14 and can post 23:00 for a 4-miler.
