The fastest athletes in the world have competed on the track at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island. Runners have set world and national records have been set and recorded stunning upsets. It’s a place of achievement that’s sure to inspire any fan of the sport.
On four Tuesday nights in June and July, adult runners of every ability level have the opportunity to be a part of the Icahn Stadium tradition themselves at NYRR’s Tuesday Night Speed Series meets. Distances range from 400 meters to 5000 meters, and the range of abilities goes from world class to first-timers on the track. The June 25 meet included a co-ed 5000, and men’s and women’s 800-, 400-, and 4 x 400-meter events.
