No need to worry, the person picking up your bib will need to have your name, birthday, and shirt size to be able to get your bib and long-sleeve shirt (shirt size is subject to availability)!

Kick off the New Year at the Midnight Run Presented by Emerald Nuts! Join the fun and celebrate with dancing (starting at 10:00 p.m.), a costume parade and contest (starting at 11:00 p.m.), and a 15-minute fireworks show as seen on foot. With a countdown to midnight beginning at 11:59 p.m., the 4-mile unscored run will begin on the stroke of midnight, as will a spectacular fireworks display to light up the night and the start of 2014. Enjoy cocoa roasted almonds as post-race treat to keep you going all night long.

You’ll line up on the 72nd Street Transverse and will start your four-mile celebration by heading east. You'll turn left onto East Drive and ascend Cat Hill (featuring the Still Hunt statue of a crouching panther. Beyond the one-mile point, along the race’s longest flat section, you'll see a statue of Fred Lebow, legendary founder of the New York City Marathon, near East 90th Street. You’ll continue north on East Drive and enjoy a slight downhill at about 1.5 miles, then another flat section. You'll turn left onto the 102nd Street Transverse and can toast the halfway point with a glass of sparkling cider. Turn left again and head south on West Drive, where you'll hit a challenging series of three rolling hills between the Transverse and the southwestern edge of the Reservoir and shortly before the three-mile mark. Enjoy a welcome downhill for almost a half-mile, followed by a few hundred meters of flat road and then a final left turn back onto the 72nd Street Transverse, where you'll finish back at your starting point. Happy New Year!
Tip for spectators: A great spot to check out the free fireworks show is just south of 72nd Street.
Get a little taste of the good life at our pre-race and post-race festival at the Central Park Bandshell from 10:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. This celebration is free and open to the public. Check out what we've got going on:
• Butlers serving up free Breakfast on the Go Yogurt Bites on sliver platters
• A dance party featuring a DJ and live performers
• A costume contest with prizes for individuals or groups of runners with the "nuttiest" attire, starting at 11:00 p.m. and followed by a procession of costumed runners to the start
• A photo area at the Bandshell, where you can use elegant props, walk the red carpet, and commemorate your night with family and friends
