As the first race in the NYRR 5-Borough Series, the Manhattan Half-Marathon presented a great challenge to start the year. After a snowstorm turned the 2012 edition of this race into an unscored fun run, more than 5,000 runners registered this year to take on the Series’ toughest course.
With a field of more than 5,000 runners, the Manhattan Half-Marathon began the 2013 NYRR 5-Borough Series with two loops around Central Park. The rolling hills throughout the course, combined with temperatures near freezing, presented runners with perhaps the most challenging course in the Series.
