Staten Island Half-Marathon and Staten Island Day Transportation

We encourage runners to travel to the Staten Island Half-Marathon and Staten Island Day via public transportation. Please review your options and plan ahead.

By ferry: Runners participating in the Staten Island Half-Marathon are strongly encouraged to take the 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 7:30 a.m. Staten Island Ferry from Whitehall Terminal. The trip takes 25 minutes. The ferry drops runners off right next to the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the S.I. Yankees, adjacent to Race Day Central (the start/finish area). Please visit to plan your trip to Whitehall Terminal, and leave plenty of time to get to Whitehall Terminal and board the ferry. There is no 8:00 a.m. ferry, and the 8:30 a.m. ferry will not arrive in time for runners to get to the start. Note: If traveling via R train from Brooklyn, visit for re-route information, as construction will impede access to Whitehall Street.

By Staten Island Railway: For those coming from Staten Island, consider taking the Staten Island Railway to St. George Terminal. Half-marathon runners should plan to take the trains arriving at 6:13, 6:43, 7:13, or 7:43 a.m. in order to make it to the start on time.

By car: We recommend taking public transportation to Staten Island Day. If you drive, please be aware that Race Day Central (the start/finish area) is located on Bank Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry St. George Terminal and the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the S.I. Yankees.

Parking access and restrictions:

Parking will be very limited at the Ferry Terminal; vehicular access will be restricted from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Ferry Terminal Lots B and C, adjacent to the stadium, will be closed for the event. For Ferry Terminal Lot A, enter via the ramp adjacent to the stadium. You will not be able to leave the lot until after the half-marathon (approximately 11:45 a.m.).

Richmond Terrace, Bay Street, and the entire half-marathon route will close to traffic at 8:00 a.m. Limited street parking will be available on surrounding side streets. Illegally parked cars will be towed by the NYPD.

Other parking options:

St. George Courthouse Garage: 54 Central Avenue, Staten Island. $8.80 special event rate. Opens at 7:00 a.m.

Allied St. George Lot: 25 Wall Street, Staten Island. $8/day; open 24/7.
