Congrats to Brooklyn Half Finishers! Track/compare your splits and claim your finisher badges now!
Did you know that heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death, claiming more than 24,000 lives annually in New York City? You can make a difference in your life and the lives of others by participating in the American Heart Association Wall Street Run & Heart Walk (both 3 miles). Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
To learn more about how to support the American Heart Association, access heart-healthy tips, or join your company team, please visit heartwalknyc.org.
Please note: Walkers will not be timed.
P.S. There's also an AHA Wall Street Heart Walk going on at the exact same time as the run. Sign up here if you're interested!
This unique tour of the Wall Street District is the flattest race in New York City that isn't around a track. The three-mile course starts at the intersection of Greenwich Street and Murray Street. It's a constant series of straightaways and right-angle turns—too many to list—but don't worry; it's easy to follow, and you'll enjoy the constant variety and excitement as you cruise therough the famous canyons between the skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan. (You can check your form in some block-long glass walls.) The race is fast, fun, and full of cheering spectators, and in the last mile you'll skirt the southern tip of the island near the Staten Island Ferry terminal, return to the north along the Hudson River on the Battery Park Esplanade, and finish across from the World Financial Center Winter Garden, where you'll find a post-race festival that will include refreshments, sponsor booths, and an awards ceremony.
