Running the MLB 5K + Fun Run in Prospect Park on July 13? Please note the different bib pickup location here.
The NYRR 5-Borough Series rolled into Queens today, and 5,442 runners tackled a brand new 10,000-meter course that highlighted the best of picturesque Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Julius Arile Lomeriyang won first place in the 2012 Queens 10K, besting his closest challenger by more than three minutes. As scorching temperatures slowed everyone down, from the elites to the back of the pack, Lomeriyang, a native Kenyan already accustomed to such weather, was unfazed. In fact, winning this race in the second annual NYRR 5-Borough Series was the easy part, considering where he comes from and where he hopes to go.
