Running in a Winter Wonderland
With a major snowstorm inbound, NYRR and its partners at NYC Parks & Recreation declared the Manhattan Half-Marathon an unscored, non-competitive event—there were no clocks and no official results, and all registered entrants who are members of NYRR received their 9+1 ING New York City Marathon 2013 qualifying credit and 4/5 NYC Half 2013 qualifying credit.
A Few Flakes Won't Hurt
Due to a snowstorm, NYRR and our partners in the Parks Department elected to make the Manhattan Half-Marathon an unscored fun run. A handful of entrants opted to sleep in, but for the hardy runners who braved the snow, the event was, in fact, a whole lot of fun. The white stuff may have precluded fast times, but it did make for an unforgettable 13.1-miler in pristine, silent Central Park.
