The 2016 New Balance 5th Avenue Mile is taking place on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.
With a new title sponsor this year, the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile opens a beautiful 20-block stretch of 5th Avenue to runners of all ages and abilities who want to run their best mile in New York City. Special races include a youth mile, the George Sheehan Memorial Mile for runners age 60 and over, the NYRR Road Mile Championships, and Olympic-caliber professional men's and women's races.
Join us for the brand-new NYRR Queens 5K and warm up the roadway for the NYRR Five-Borough Series: Queens 10K later in the day. Enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile route through Flushing Meadows Corona Park and see what makes New York City's biggest borough unique.
Family and friends can hit the streets for the the New Balance Bronx 5K and feel the excitement of the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile. This event is part of our 9+1 program for 2015, so complete the race, or volunteer, and you'll get credit in this calendar year toward the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon.
Kick off the New Year at the Midnight Run! Join the fun and celebrate with music and dancing (starting at 10:00 p.m.) as 2015 comes to a close. With a countdown to midnight beginning at 11:59 p.m., the four-mile unscored run will begin on the stroke of midnight, as will a spectacular fireworks display to light up the night and the start of 2016.
The TCS New York City Marathon is one of the world’s most iconic races. During the 26.2-mile journey through the five boroughs of New York City, some 50,000 runners will experience the sights and sounds of the city, cheered on by more than two million spectators, entertained by hundreds of bands, and be inspired every step of the way. Be a part of it on November 6 as the entire city transforms into the world’s biggest stadium.

In 2016, the NYRR Five-Borough Series will once again finish with the Staten Island Half, a race dedicated to making a positive impact on the borough that hosts the start of the TCS New York City Marathon. Scheduled just four weeks before the TCS New York City Marathon, the Staten Island Half is a perfect tune-up for NYRR’s flagship event and features fabulous views of New York Harbor and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.
