NYRR Open Houses
Kick off the season by joining NYRR and the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory for a chance to run on a brand-new track on Wednesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 14 at the NYRR Open House evenings at the Armory.
The events will allow runners to get acquainted with the facility and the sport, with clinics on dynamic running warm-ups as well as Yoga for Runners presented by the New York Health & Racquet Club. Former World Championships runner Tom Nohilly will present injury-prevention exercises.
The clinics will be followed by some “funky and friendly” relay races, which will be followed by a social hour; attendees can enjoy beer and wine at the Armory’s trackside café.
The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The first hour will allow runners to run and explore, and will include tours of the Armory (which houses the National Track & Field Hall of Fame). Gather some friends and join in the fun as NYRR and the Armory kick off the 2015–2016 indoor season.
Registration is just $5, either in advance or at the door. For more information and to register, please click here.
A Night at the Races
NYRR’s Thursday Night at the Races are getting an update: New features include a Wednesday-night meet, online registration and schedules, themed nights with music, and more fun than ever!
The series includes four high-energy track and field meets, with individual events ranging from 800 to 5000 meters and some fun (and sometimes unusual) relays. Each event is divided into several sections, with runners grouped according to their predicted times, so everyone can be competitive.
