Always a festive event, the Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run promises to be especially celebratory this year, given the Supreme Court’s recent rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8.

Kenyans Shine, Teen Phenom Falters at Cleveland Marathon

A pair of Kenyans won big at the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon on Sunday, May 19, as Philemon Terer topped the men’s field and Sarah Kiptoo was the women’s champion. Both runners posted times fast enough to double their prize money, thanks to $3,000 time bonuses.

Deba Says She's Healthy Again and Ready

Coming into a race lacking confidence is a courageous thing to admit.  But the gentle Ethiopian Buzunesh Deba, who proudly calls herself a New Yorker from the Bronx, says she’ll get that confidence back when she starts pounding the pavement on Sunday.

If the NYRR New York Mini 10K is about celebrating generations of active women, it’s hard to imagine finding better examples than Julianne Grace; her daughter, Deirdre Beck; and her granddaughter, Julianne Beck, who combine for a total of 71 years running the race.
