Lagat: If NYC Half Goes Well, Fall Marathon -Very Likely

In Friday’s night’s episode of NYRR’s On the Run, interviewer Carrie Tollefson asked Bernard Lagat whether there might be a marathon in his future if he does well in Sunday’s NYC Half.

It turns out that Lagat made a little news.

 “Very likely, very likely,” answered the two-time Olympic medalist at 1500 meters before making his half-marathon debut. “If I do well, why not even do something like that at the end of the year?”

Wilson Kipsang turned 31 years old on Friday, and the occasion was marked in suitable, if miniature, fashion. Complete Pro Fields for NYC Half 2013

 New York Road Runners has released the complete, final professional athlete roster for Sunday’s NYC Half 2013.

Headlining the field for the men will be Wilson Kipsang of Kenya, with a half-marathon personal best of 58:59. For the women, the fastest personal best belongs to Kim Smith of New Zealand, whose 1:07:11 is the fastest half-marathon ever run on U.S. soil.
