The groundbreaking NYRR Live, hosted by ABC7 anchor Rob Powers and two-time Olympian Todd Williams, returns at 8:00 p.m. EDT tonight and Friday with athlete interviews, in-depth analysis, and commentary on Sunday’s NYC Half. In-studio guests will include 2012 Olympic marathon team members Kara Goucher, Desiree Davila, and Meb Keflezighi and 2008 Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein. The quartet of U.S. stars headlines a deep NYC Half professional field of athletes who will be chasing a total prize-money purse of $100,000.

Also set to appear on NYRR Live are Runner’s World editor-in-chief David Willey, Sports Illustrated senior writer David Epstein, and NYRR president and CEO Mary Wittenberg.

NYRR Live will feature 2004 Olympian Carrie Tollefson, whose fast-paced reporting is expected to take viewers behind the scenes with, among others:

  • Book of Mormon actor Rory O’Malley from Times Square in a preview of the new course;
  • Pancake chefs Jon Meyer and Will Griffin, who will be feeding hungry runners at the Post Race Festival Presented by Poland Spring at the South Street Seaport;
  • A pair of young Japanese running stars on a visit to the Empire State Building; and
  • Pro runners Julie Culley, Kim Smith, Ed Moran, and Scott Bauhs as they prepare for their races.

NYRR Live can be seen at tv.nyrr.org. Powers and Williams will also be in the booth for the two-hour live race day telecast, seen locally on ABC7 and streamed at tv.nyrr.org beginning at 7:00 a.m. EDT Sunday.
