Tune in tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT for the latest edition of NYRR On the Run, headlined by a visit with Meb Keflezighi and his family in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The ING New York City Marathon on November 4 will not only mark the 10th anniversary of Keflezighi’s first marathon—right here in New York—but will also be the fourth marathon in this calendar year for the popular 37-year-old. It’s a string that has so far included a U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials victory, a fourth in the London Olympic Games, and two personal bests.
“To have done four quality marathons is going to be a challenge to anybody … but I think as long as I can stay healthy I can perform. And what a great way to finish [the year,] to be able to run a PR in New York,” Keflezighi says in an accompanying NYRR On the Run Radio podcast.
This week’s edition of NYRR On the Run will also feature “Local Hero” Travis Moret, a 12-year-old from the Bronx; a chat with journalist Joe Battaglia on the future of the World Marathon Majors; a look at Team Athena, an all-woman running group in Portland, OR; and training tips from the Oregon Track Club.

“Our races are to our sport what Wimbledon and the Australian, U.S., and French Opens are to tennis, and what the Masters, U.S., and British Opens and PGA Championship are to golf. Each race has the history, the tradition, the honor roll of legendary champions, and a special place in the eyes of all to make them stand apart from the other events.” Mary Wittenberg
