My NYRR: Getting Started

About My NYRR

My NYRR is a personalized hub that gives you easy access to the information and tools that are most vital to your running life. Here you can view and register for races, volunteer opportunities, and classes – all in a single, streamlined cart. NYRR members also enjoy the benefit of instantly viewing member status and 9 + 1 and 4/5 progress.

Click on the button to walk-through how our new registration system works.

Here's how you can:

Register for a race

Once you have logged in to My NYRR, select ‘Registration on the left-hand toolbar. Click ‘Races’ to view upcoming races with availability. Next, click ‘Add to Cart’ for the races you’d like to enter. On the right-hand side of the screen, click ‘Checkout Now’ to proceed to checkout. Once you have completed registration, an email will be sent confirming the transaction and the race will appear in the ‘Registered Races’ section of your dashboard.

Register for a class

Once you have logged in to My NYRR, select ‘Registration’ on the left-hand toolbar. Click ‘My Classes’ to view upcoming classes with availability. Next, click ‘Add to Cart’ for the classes for which you’d like to register. On the right-hand side of the screen, click ‘Checkout Now’ to proceed to checkout. Once you have completed registration, an email will be sent confirming the transaction and the class will appear in the ‘Registered Classes’ section of your dashboard.

Sign up for a volunteer opportunity

Once you have logged in to My NYRR, select ‘Volunteer’ on the left-hand toolbar. Under the heading ‘Volunteer for Weekly Races and Events,’ you will see upcoming volunteer opportunities with availability. Click ‘Volunteer’ for the event for which you’d like to volunteer. My NYRR will then guide you through a two-step process to register for the volunteer opportunity. Once you have completed registration, an email will be sent confirming the details of the opportunity you selected.

Check your membership status

Once you have logged in to My NYRR, select ‘My Membership’ on the left-hand toolbar. Under My Membership, you’ll see your member number and the date your membership expires. If your membership is expiring soon, you’ll be given the option to renew.

Register on behalf of someone under 18

You must be 18 or older to create a My NYRR account. If you are under 18, or you would like to purchase a race entry for someone under 18, an adult must create an account and then register on the minor’s behalf. Once the adult has logged in to My NYRR, the adult must select ‘Registration’ on the left-hand toolbar. Click ‘Races’ to view upcoming races with availability. Next, click ‘Add to Cart’ for the races you’d like to purchase on behalf of a minor. On the right-hand side of the screen, click ‘Checkout Now’ to proceed to checkout. The first field in the checkout process asks you to select who you are registering for. Click the ‘I am registering for’ dropdown and select ‘My children.’ You will be asked to complete all required fields and sign a liability waiver.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Do I need to create an account?

If you are a NYRR member or if you’ve registered for a race or class in the past three years, you already have a My NYRR account. Your email address is your User ID. Note: Current NYRR members should not create new accounts. If you can't remember the email addres on your account, please contact mynyrr@nyrr.org.

Why did I get a link to activate my account when I am not a member?

Our registration system requires everyone to have an account in order to register for a race, a class, or volunteer.
If you've registered for a race, a class, or volunteered in the past three years, you will get a link from us to activate your account in our new registration system. Once your account has been activated, it will make it faster and easier to register for races, classes, and volunteering.

Why aren’t you asking for my member number when I log in?

My NYRR recognizes members based on the email address associated with their membership record. All members should have received an email on March 30 with login instructions, including the email address associated with the account. Can’t find the email? Click on the ‘Forgot Password?’ link on the login screen to reset the password for your account. Your email address is your User ID. Note: Current NYRR members should not create new accounts.

I am missing a race in the ‘My Registered Races’ section.

NYRR customer service can assist with verifying your upcoming registrations and resolving any issues. Keep in mind that a credit card transaction and confirmation emails also serve as verification of registration to an upcoming race.

I think my 9+1 or 4/5 status is incorrect.

The 9+1 and 4/5 status displayed on your My NYRR dashboard is for guaranteed entry to the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon and the NYC Half 2014, respectively. Go to member history to verify which races have counted toward 9+1 or 4/5 qualification. If you believe a race is missing from your results, submit a results correction request here. If you believe you are missing a volunteer credit, send an email here

How do I change my password?

When logged in to your My NYRR profile, go to “Account Setting” on the left-hand toolbar. In the security section of your account settings, enter your current password and your new password. Once you’re finished, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Why am I not getting an activation link?

Your activation email link may appear in your spam or junk-mail folder. If you look there and still do not find your email, please contact our customer service team.
