2017 NYRR Five-Borough Series

The NYRR Five-Borough Series showcases New York Road Runners' commitment to the individuals and communities in each borough since 2014. More than just five races, the Five-Borough Series—the United Airlines NYC Half, the Airbnb Brooklyn Half, the NYRR Queens 10K, the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile, and the NYRR Staten Island Half—is a celebration of what makes each borough unique, inspiring, and an amazing place to get out and get moving.

United Airlines NYC Half

Manhattan, March 21, 2017

First race: August, 27, 2006

Total distance covered since 2014: 1,046,127 miles
 

  • -Started in 2006 (Fred Lebow/Hispanic Half in Manhattan – in 1973)
  • -One of the most prestigious half marathons in the world
  • -The only race in New York that goes through the Times Square

Queens 10K

  • -The course goes through the Flushing Meadow Corona Park and passes the home of the USTA and the US Open
  • -The race celebrates the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world: there are 138 languages spoken in the Queens borough

New Balance Bronx 10 mile

Bronx, September 24, 2017

First race: 1995
Total finishers since 2014: 30,740 (15,773 M – 14,967 F)
Total distance covered since 2014:  307,400 miles
 

  • -The race celebrates the unique culture of the flavourful Bronx borough. It offers great running experience along with music, food and other community activities.
  • -The starting line is in the same area where on June, 4, 1958, Ted Corbitt and 40 fellow runners founded what later became the New York Road Runners
  • -There were 30,740 runners crossing the finish line in Bronx since 2014; 11,787 of them in 2016.
