Ready to get up and running? Congratulations! This simple yet powerful act will take your mind, body, and spirit to a better place. And the greatest thing about running is anyone can do it. You don’t need fancy equipment or an Olympian’s physique. If you were ever a toddler, you already know the basics.

NYRR can help you start out safely, and we'll guide you along the path to fitness. We have special programs just for beginners, plus classes and training for runners at all levels. We can tell you where to run, how to find a coach, and what gear will help you perform. And we put on more than 100 events throughout the year—from the Fifth Avenue Mile to the TCS New York City Marathon—to keep you motivated and give you dreams you can train for. You’re running toward a healthier life. NYRR is rooting for you every step of the way.
