Director, Business Development

Within NYRR, The Business Development team is charged with establishing strategic corporate marketing partnerships to increase revenue, broaden NYRR's reach and impact, enhance NYRR's community programs, and reduce expenses through value-in-kind donations.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic program development for marketing partners
  • Identify and develop partnerships to increase NYRR engagement and reach, year-round with broader audiences
  • Develop content and distribution media partnership rights and benefits packages
  • Take the lead in developing strategic partnerships for NYRR Marquee events including the ING New York City Marathon.  Work with director of Program Development to identify what programs will sell and what potential assets/benefits could be added/packaged to increase programs’ intrinsic value and likelihood of being sold
  • Drive renewal negotiating process  of over 65 partners representing over $10 Million in revenue

Warehouse Operations Coordinator

The overall objectives of this department will be the efficient management of all levels of production as it relates to NYRR events, while working with the Business Development & Marketing Strategies Department developing models that result in event services contributing to the overall profitability of the organization.

This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and will be responsible for assisting with the overall planning and execution of key NYRR events, ensuring a first-class presentation with concentration on customer satisfaction while making sure all sponsor obligations are fulfilled.


Responsibilities:

  • Loading and delivering NYRR inventory to race site as well as distributing and installing all race day equipment.  ON conclusion of event, retrieving all issued inventory, ensuring all items are accounted for, and returning them to NYRR Warehouse for unloading
  • Responsible for inventory management of NYRR warehouse,  accounting for all items stored, shipped and received at this location
  • Responsible for all equipment maintenance, insuring race related equipment is in good order, including but not limited to:  generators, scaffolding, tables, barrels and sound system(s)
  • Keeping the Warehouse Manager apprised on any/all needed equipment upgrades, repairs, and/or purchases
  • Oversee inventory of disposable items, including but not limited to:  plastic garbage bags, caution tape; latex gloves, cups, etc
  • Work closely with Event Project Managers, Business Development, and Creative Services in developing material delivery and load schedules.  Responsible for all delivery; placement and return of all event elements
  • Coordinate the execution of signage installation plan for all events as required
  • Submit weekly status reports to Manager

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in warehouse operations
  • Ability to drive 15’ to 24’ trucks with a valid CDL
  • Ability to operate fork lift and pallet jacks
  • Ability to execute detailed timelines for movement of all materials
  • Willingness to work various weekends and flexibility to work split shifts
  • Must have strong communicative skills, both verbal and written.  Fluency in English is required and fluency in Spanish preferred

VP of Marketing & Digital

NYRR is seeking a forward-looking, innovative Vice President of Marketing & Digital to lead its Brand, Marketing, Digital, and Communications Department (BM&C). The VP of Marketing & Digital will be responsible for oversight of all: 1) brand management & consumer marketing, 2) digital platforms 3) marketing programming (price, product, promotion, place and people), 4) internal/external communications (all channels, digital and offline), 5) "customer experience" development 6) strategic marketing/media partnerships, and 7) marketing investments – addressing all stakeholders including but not limited to: consumers, runners, trade, employees, and board members.

The VP of Marketing & Digital will work closely with each department and product line to understand their goals and priorities, and develop appropriate marketing plans and programs to help NYRR accomplish its organization-wide goals. The VP of Marketing & Digital will report to the CEO, and serve on the executive team.


Responsibilities:

  • Leading all marketing operations including: brand management, member marketing, product development/management, creative services, media relations, advertising/promotion, broadcast marketing, partner marketing, customer experience/service, digital development and marketing, licensing and merchandising, ticket and entry fees, marketing research/analytics and internal marketing.
  • Managing and developing a marketing organization that will mature and scale to support the requirements of our growing organization
  • Innovating and continuously improving marketing outreach methods, including email marketing, inbound marketing, SEO/SEM, social marketing and traditional media as warranted

Coordinator, Event Administration

The overall objective of the Event Administration Department is to establish and oversee the project management processes for all event operations and development projects, ensuring milestone targets are met and that those projects are aligned with the NYRR strategic imperatives that formulate the organization's 5 - 10 year growth plan. Additionally, the Event Administration Department supports several key operational groups, including: the Event Administration, Event Management & Logistics, and Medical Operations teams. That support will vary in scope depending on the needs of the groups.

This entry level position will report to the Director of Event Administration, and will be responsible for tracking project/efforts, support in the development and execution of NYRR events, developing and implementing medical plans, coordinating and credentialing volunteer and paid medical providers, completing required permit applications and health department reports, scheduling Emergency Medical Services, event analytics and assisting with the overall medical planning and execution of key NYRR events.


Event Administration and Event Management & Logistics Efforts:

  • Administrative support for Directors of Event Administration and Event Development (as needed)
  • Work with Director of Event Administration in tracking projects and efforts, ensuring on-time deliverables by tracking and distributing any needed reminders
  • Manage and maintain project timelines for various efforts
  • Preparation of presentations and other supporting documents for City Agency Meetings
  • Provide on-going status reports (weekly) on workload and efforts being tracked

Medical Efforts:
  • Work with the Medical Director to develop event specific medical plans
  • Process event specific health permits and file necessary NYS Department of Health reporting forms
  • Track performance and cost of paid EMS providers
  • Schedule paid medical providers as required (i.e. paid massage therapists)
  • Manage medical records management and retention processes including electronic scanning of medical records
  • Assist the Medical Director with the development of Requests for Proposal (RFP’s) for medical services utilized at NYRR events
  • Manage ING NYC Marathon medical volunteer recruitment and credential verification processes, along with the logistics of orientation programs
  • Support the Medical Director with medical command and control on Marathon day
  • Manage medical supply ordering and processing for the Marathon. Coordinate with warehouse team for supply chain issues

Requirements:
  • College degree required
  • Experience in event management preferred
  • 2 years of work experience, health care provider experience is a plus
  • Ability to prepare project timelines, budgets and provide detailed analysis for all efforts on a timely manner
  • Willingness to work various weekends, long hours and travel
  • Must have strong communicative skills and work as a team player
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines

IT Help Desk Associate

The help desk role is the bridge between the customer and the IT department. It is critically important to NYRR that the help desk function effectively and efficiently as computer related problems can severely impact business operations. Help desk staff not only close requests quickly, but they do so in an organized, professional and friendly manner. Attention to detail and communication skills are important characteristics of the help desk staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems.
  • Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
  • Responsible for keeping track of all incoming Help Desk tickets by phone or email. Create/assign/update/close tickets in a timely manner via ticket system (Numara Track-IT).
  • Escalate more involved problems to the appropriate support teams.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams.
  • Prepares and configures computer equipment, including installation of appropriate software. Test new software releases and features.
  • Delivers, tags, sets up, and assists in the configuration of end-user PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Prepare, setup temporary PCs for use at remote locations in support of events.
  • Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems, computer hardware/software problems, email, Internet and network access problems.
  • Coordinates timely repair of PC computer equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
  • Performs minor desktop hardware repair for PC/Mac computer equipment and peripherals that are not covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
  • Integrate hardware into existing LAN environments. This includes establishing network, file server access, configuration of email and print server connectivity.
  • Setup and support mobile devices such as Blackberry, WIN, iPhone/IPad, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Apple OSX.
  • Proficiency in and Microsoft Office 2007/2010.
  • Basic Active Directory – Changing user passwords, moving user accounts to different OUs, unlocking accounts, joining computers to a domain, etc.

Program Development Project Coordinator

New York Road Runners seeks a smart, hard-working individual to join the program development team of our fast-paced Youth and Community Services (YCS) department. The YCS program development team works to improve the efficiency, impact and reach of NYRR's youth running programs. We are looking for someone to lead a variety of projects associated with our web-based programs, resources and management tools. A sample project might be working with program staff and IT programmers to develop a highly customized and robust Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database. The Project Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager of YCS Program Development.

This position is an opportunity for the right candidate to work closely with their supervisor to gain experience in managing projects, developing business requirements, and implementing new technology solutions. The ideal candidate will take initiative to advance his or her own skills and knowledge in these areas and will embrace the daily challenges that come with program development work.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with program staff to obtain a thorough understanding of program functions and processes; identify growth and improvement opportunities; and define project needs
  • Research potential strategies, vendors, and costs; summarize and present findings
  • Define and/or develop the business rules for a project and translate those to detailed workflows and requirements that are clearly documented

Manager, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships

The Business Development and Strategic Partnerships group is responsible for management, growth and renewal of partnerships - both with new partners and existing relationships with partner organizations. NYRR's strategic partners support the organization through revenue, expense reduction through value-in-kind contributions, and by broadening awareness of NYRR initiatives.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships.
