Beginning at 7:00 a.m. EST on February 10, My NYRR will be offline for system upgrades for approximately 90 minutes.
NYRR is making a real difference in the lives of children. We reach more than 200,000 kids through our school-based Mighty Milers and Young Runners programs, propelling them to expand their physical, emotional, and educational potential through running.
During the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon season, 8,500 charity runners raised $34.5 million to help hundreds of nonprofit organizations locally in New York City and across the nation. This number represents charity runners, including those who registered to run with an official TCS New York City Marathon charity partner, those who ran on their own but raised money for an official charity partner, and those who ran on their own and used Crowdrise, the TCS New York City Marathon official fundraising partner platform, to raise money. More than $165 million has been raised by charity runners since the inception of our charity program.
NYRR’s own Team for Kids raised more than $5 million during the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon season. That funding provides community programs and initiatives to transform the lives of more than 200,000 children across the country who would otherwise have little or no access to regular physical activity.
Running the TCS New York City Marathon is a feat of willpower—and the race itself is a testament to the economic power of 1 million + spectators, thousands of runners and their guests, plus sponsors, vendors, and NYRR. In 2014, the race generated a record $415 million for New York City, significantly boosting tourism, tax revenues, and the economy.
