Project Manager

The Project Manager (PM) will work with the Strategy & Planning team to support organizational strategy formulation, project implementation, and strategic plan execution. The PM will serve 2 primary functions: (1) providing in-depth analytical support in evaluating existing operations and new business opportunities, and (2) managing cross-functional project teams to execute on the many action items/special projects that have been designed to help NYRR continue to reach its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities: 
  • Analyze business performance and industry trends; present relevant market landscape assessment
  • Evaluate existing operations or new business opportunities; provide recommendations on alternative courses of action, and assess relevant risk factors
  • Work with project teams to develop detailed project work plans and deliverables
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and overall project organization; Monitor day-to-day activities of the project team and ensure work is progressing as planned
  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across multiple projects
  • Actively monitor project risks and scope creep to identify potential problems; and proactively identify solutions to address these issues
  • Communicate and document project status and strategic recommendations; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels
  • Ensure approaches and solutions are linked to overall organization objectives and future needs
  • Partner with project team leads to prepare and present work output/final deliverables
  • Lead the training/mentoring of colleagues/team members re: methodologies and best practices, as required
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 2 years strategy and/or project management experience required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and understand different project teams
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Passion for sports (especially running) a plus!
