Marketing Coordinator

NYRR seeks a creative and industrious coordinator who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities to market NYRR’s forthcoming youth running series. Working closely with their supervisor, this person will develop and execute the marketing plan to launch NYRR’s Youth Running Series races. This position requires excellent teamwork skills and serves as the liaison to all inter- and intra-departmental teams for this initiative. This is a one year position with the possibility of continuation. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Reaching target registration numbers for each race event
  • Crafting content around the series to raise awareness of NYRR’s work with youth among members and the community
  • Researching competitive properties by identifying and evaluating key features; maintaining up-to-date competition grids
  • Compiling and keeping up-to-date records on target audience lists; establishing contacts with potential community partners and key leaders
  • Working closely with event production colleagues at NYRR and the Armory to communicate deadlines and get key details and deliverables for race promotion
  • Working closely with NYRR’s BMC and PR colleagues, as well Armory partners, to communicate the race program messaging though all  appropriate platforms and vehicles; creating and scheduling the seasonal promotion of the series’ events; updating the NYRR website as needed
  • Working closely with Youth & Community team colleagues to support Young Runners registration and provide necessary promotional materials to ensure it’s integrated and communicated through all appropriate opportunities
  • Coordinating with the appropriate BMC, partnership, development, and Armory colleagues to support sponsors and/or donors
  • Supporting strategy & planning by tracking key metrics and providing registration data, customer feedback, market trends, budget, and other information as requested for analysis and program growth planning
  • Production and ordering of promotional materials, as well as event needs, including t-shirts, ribbons, medals, signage, etc. and ensuring delivery/distribution
  • Communicating and planning for other event needs throughout BMC, including photographer scheduling, shot list, galleries, recap writing, day-of and post-event social media
  • Working closely with NYRR and Armory colleagues to support a positive and seamless customer service experience for events taking place at the Armory
  • Assisting with marketing tasks as needed by supervisor for complementary initiatives that support the youth running series and/or the target market

 

Requirements: 

 

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications or a related field and/or relevant work experience in marketing and production
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work manage projects and work in a team environment
  • A self starter with a high level of communication, responsiveness, follow through, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment; resourceful
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work on weekends and extended hours as needed
  • Understanding of youth running/track and field world
  • Passion for NYRR’s mission
